The H&S Association serves as the liaison between all those involved, and all are strongly encouraged to take part, especially by attending association meetings. These meetings are held three-to-four times per year and are open to all members of the association (that's everyone!).

Discussion topics include current events and school-related issues. Members may also use this forum to ask questions and share concerns. Free childcare is always provided. Watch your Wednesday envelope and the check back on the website calendars for meeting announcements.

Who's Who
Many parents, teachers and faculty have volunteered to assist in keeping the lines of communication open between the H&S Association and the classrooms; it's a big task! Thanks to all these volunteers! Here is a breakdown of “who's who” within H&S:

At Large Member: A parent volunteer who provides critical input to the board for decision-making and voting issues. At large members are expected to attend all scheduled board meetings and take part in H&S-sponsored events.
Class Representative: A parent volunteer representing a specific grade and serving as the liaison between the H&S board and the class he/she represents. H&S promotes and encourages open communication and feedback. Our class reps help this information flow smoothly from the classroom to the H&S board and back. Class reps also provide monthly updates that are featured in the H&S newsletter. Class reps are encouraged to attend monthly board meetings.
Team Leader: A parent volunteer serving as the primary contact and communicator for a specific H&S-sponsored event.
Event Planner: A parent volunteer serving on the planning team for a H&S-sponsored event.
Event Volunteer: A parent serving as a volunteer at a specific H&S-sponsored event.
If you would like to be a participant in any of these groups, please let us know.

Fundraisers
H&S operates three fundraisers each year. The proceeds from these fundraisers establish the annual H&S budget and allow the H&S Association to sponsor more than 10 great events each year. The three fundraisers for the 2009-2010 school year are:

1. Magazine Sale: This is one of the longest-running and most profitable fundraisers. The proceeds from this sale determine a large portion of the annual H&S budget. Kickoff is early in the school year, and rewards and prizes are offered for many levels of success! For the 2009-10 school year, contact Lora Evans, lora.r.evans@gmail.com or 577-9268 for information regarding this fundraiser. Also see info here.

2. Market Day: Great food and great prices without the hassle of supermarket traffic or long lines. Market Day is an important fundraiser for the school and services the entire community. Purchase online at www.marketday.com or with the forms in your Wednesday envelopes. Contact Martie Cody, 224-1132 or martiecody@charter.net for ordering information, volunteer opportunities or other details about Market Day.

3. Trivia “Knight:” Fun, fun, fun! Spend an evening with friends and family, share tons of laughs and test your knowledge of all things trivial – sports, movies, religion, history and music (including live performances by some of our very own faculty and staff!) This event was introduced in 2008 to rave reviews!
