Kim Pavlik
Kim is the kindergarten (5K) teacher at St. Dennis School.

Kim earned degrees in Early Childhood Education and Psychology with an emphasis in Adolescent Psychology. She also holds a Supervising Student Teacher Certificate.

Kim has taught early childhood and kindergarten for 25+ years. From 2000-2009, she taught all-day kindergarten at St. Patrick School in Janesville.

She believes children learn best when they feel comfortable and relaxed, so Kim likes to create a classroom that is stimulating and inviting. She also likes to create a diverse and exciting curriculum that meets the needs of all children in the room.

“I believe the most important thing a teacher can do is help each child develop a strong self esteem because when you feel good about yourself, you can succeed at anything,” says Kim.

She says her kindergarten curriculum is academic – with phonics, writing activities, math, art, music and play all included, and presented in a fun and motivating way. “I love teaching little people!” she says.

Kim and her husband, Ken, live in Janesville and they have three grown children. In her leisure time she enjoys reading, shopping and watching her son play soccer. She is excited about being part of the St. Dennis School faculty, and looks forward to teaching at St. Dennis for “many years to come!”

Tricia Mitmoen
Tricia is the teaching assistant for 5K.

She earned Dietetic Technician and Early Childhood degrees from Madison Area Technical College and has also completed Continuing Education credits.

Before becoming a teacher, Tricia ran an in-home daycare for 12 years and was also employed by Anchor Bank for nearly 17 years.

Tricia has been a member of St. Dennis Parish for many years. She and her husband, Randy, have an adult son and daughter, both of whom are graduates of St. Dennis School. Tricia is a proud grandma, too, with the birth of grandson Cooper in May 2010.

When her children were students at St. Dennis, she was an active volunteer, serving on the Home & School Association Board, the Craft Day and Catholic Schools Week committees and starting and co-chairing the Market Day fundraiser for five years.

Tricia says St. Dennis Parish and School provide a very welcome, safe and friendly environment. Her educational philosophy, and what she strives to do every day in the kindergarten classroom, is “nurture and guide children to become spiritually and academically strong.”

In her leisure time Tricia enjoys spending time with her grandson, the rest of her family and friends. She also likes volleyball, cooking and crafts.
