Joan was born in Stevens Point and lived there until her graduation from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point. She moved to Madison when her husband became a professor in the department of Preventative Medicine at the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
Joan began her tenure at St. Dennis School in 1998. She greatly enjoys the students as well as the cohesiveness of the faculty. Before joining St. Dennis she was a librarian at Edgewood High School in Madison.
In her early teaching career, Joan was awarded Best Teacher of U.S. History and received a government scholarship to complete a Master’s degree in U.S. History. She ultimately decided to pursue her graduate degree in the Library Sciences.
She holds a bachelor of science degree with majors in U.S. History, Speech and French. She also holds a master’s degree in Library Science from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
Joan lives in Madison and has a daughter and three grandchildren. Not surprisingly, she enjoys reading and traveling.
