  • Rosie is a native Madisonian. After graduating from Edgewood High School, she and several of her friends decided to attend Edgewood College. Rosie says it was a great experience that she enjoyed very much. "I was so excited to be learning to be a teacher!" she notes. She earned a bachelor of science degree in Education. She has since taken additional graduate courses in Education. Before coming to St. Dennis, she taught third grade at Brother Dutton School in Beloit. Rosie teaches reading, religion, English, math, spelling and social studies to the school's third graders. She comments that she has been teaching at St. Dennis for "a long time!" She "loves the kids" and calls them "amazing!" Rosie and her husband, Jerry, live in Fitchburg. Her family also includes two older sisters, three nieces, one nephew, seven great-nieces and three great-nephews. In her spare time, Rosie likes reading, gardening, movies and movie popcorn! Rosie believes a teacher should create an atmosphere of trust, cooperation and understanding, which allows for growth in all members of the class. "A teacher enables students to grow and be the best that they can be," she says.
