Maureen grew up in Illinois and attended Loras College in Iowa where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. Following graduation, she began interviewing for jobs in the Madison area and “fell in love” with St. Dennis School.
She taught second grade from 1991-1993, then left the workforce to stay home with her three daughters. She returned to St. Dennis when her youngest started school. Today, in addition to sixth grade homeroom, she teaches sixth grade math, reading and language arts, and sixth, seventh and eighth grade religion.
Maureen loves the energy of the middle school students and says “the parent volunteers and willingness to be involved in our school is incredible!”
Maureen's parents met while teaching elementary school and they continue to be her “master teacher” role models. Two of her daughters have graduated from St. Dennis and her youngest is currently a student there.
Her interests include all outdoor sports and activities like rollerblading, biking, walking and boating.
In December 2009, Maureen was chosen as the Diocese of Madison Outstanding Educator from more than 600 teachers for her continued efforts and dedication to the success of students.
