Maureen grew up in Illinois and attended Loras College in Iowa where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. Following graduation, she began interviewing for jobs in the Madison area and “fell in love” with St. Dennis School.

She taught second grade from 1991-1993, then left the workforce to stay home with her three daughters. She returned to St. Dennis when her youngest started school. In addition to sixth grade homeroom, she taught sixth grade math, reading and language arts, and sixth, seventh and eighth grade religion.

Maureen loves the energy of the middle school students and says “the parent volunteers and willingness to be involved in our school is incredible!” However, Maureen's background had been teaching 5K. In the 2011-2012 Maureen decided to leave the middle school and return to her roots, teaching the second 5K classroom added to St. Dennis.

Maureen's parents met while teaching elementary school and they continue to be her “master teacher” role models. Two of her daughters have graduated from St. Dennis and her youngest is currently a student there.

Her interests include all outdoor sports and activities like rollerblading, biking, walking and boating.
