Kim is the kindergarten (5K) teacher at St. Dennis School. Kim earned degrees in Early Childhood Education and Psychology with an emphasis in Adolescent Psychology. She also holds a Supervising Student Teacher Certificate. Kim has taught early childhood and kindergarten for 25+ years.
From 2000-2009, she taught all-day kindergarten at St. Patrick School in Janesville. She believes children learn best when they feel comfortable and relaxed, so Kim likes to create a classroom that is stimulating and inviting. She also likes to create a diverse and exciting curriculum that meets the needs of all children in the room.
"I believe the most important thing a teacher can do is help each child develop a strong self esteem because when you feel good about yourself, you can succeed at anything," says Kim. She says her kindergarten curriculum is academic - with phonics, writing activities, math, art, music and play all included, and presented in a fun and motivating way. "I love teaching little people!" she says.
Kim has three grown children. In her leisure time she enjoys reading, shopping and watching her son play soccer. She is excited about being part of the St. Dennis School faculty, and looks forward to teaching at St. Dennis for "many years to come!"
