Sarah is the 4K teacher at St. Dennis School. She was raised in Skokie, Illinois, a suburb just north of Chicago. She graduated from St. Norbert College in 2014 with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Early Childhood Education. She student taught in a third grade classroom in Pulaski, Wisconsin and was lucky enough to also student teach in a kindergarten classroom in New Zealand!
For the 2014-2015 school year, Sarah was the Head Preschool Teacher at St. Catherine/St. Lucy School in Chicago, IL. She developed her own curriculum with an emphasis on play for 20 preschool children. She taught and adapted teaching methods to meet the needs of students in a socioeconomically disadvantaged community, where 95% of her students came from low-income households. It was a greatly rewarding experience.
Sarah aims to meet the needs of each student by engaging each child in the way that they learn best. She plans to continue doing this by creating enjoyable and interesting learning experiences for all students. Sarah thrives on inspiring and encouraging students to be the best they can possibly be.
She moved to Madison this summer and is super excited to be a part of the welcoming community of St. Dennis. She is very excited for the journey ahead, and cannot wait to get started!
