Mr. Beisser’s philosophy is simple: Choose your attitude and have fun! He received his undergrad from UW-Whitewater and a Masters in Educational Leadership from Cardinal Stritch University. He and his wife have two children who attend St. Dennis, and he loves coaching and playing soccer.

Facilities Manager
Sue was baptized at St. Dennis and attended school here. After being an active volunteer while her daughters were here, she filled roles in the kitchen and maintenance. Today, she helps in the finance office and manages our facilities. She loves being here and considers it her second home.

Born in Cali, Colombia, Spanish has always been an integral part of Ms. Boerke’s life. She has both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Spanish education and has been teaching for more than 25 years. She is married and has four children, all of whom have attended St. Dennis.

Ms. Brochtrup’s goal as an art teacher is to help students become confident and competent artistically, and to develop a greater understanding and appreciation of art. She has been teaching at St. Dennis since 2012. Prior to that, she taught in Madison public schools for 25 years.

The latest addition to the St. Dennis teaching team, Mrs. Caulfield holds an undergraduate degree from Valparaiso University and a Master’s degree from Creighton University.

Linda has been teaching at St. Dennis for more than 20 years and loves the community of teachers, parents and students. In her free time, she enjoys being with her husband and two daughters. One of her daughters will follow in her footsteps as she studies UW-LaCrosse to become an elementary teacher.

Sheena started working in the Extended Care Program in the fall of 2017. Prior, she worked at the Northeast YMCA Child Watch and as a gymnastics instructor. Sheena, her husband and five children enjoy traveling for hockey hiking, outdoor activities and volunteering.

Ms. Fjelstad has served as the part-time school counselor since 2012. She teaches classroom guidance, facilitates small groups and sees students individually. When not at school, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three young children.

Ms. Hanson graduated from Edgewood College in 2001 and has been teaching at St. Dennis ever since. Her goal? “I believe it is very important to make every child feel important.” When she’s not teaching, you’ll find her outdoors with her family, running, reading or laughing.

Mr. Helgerson has been working at St. Dennis for 20 years, but he says “it seems like only five.” He’s coached three sports at Lafollette High School and loves to hunt and fish, something he picked up when he went to school in Stevens Point.

Originally from Minnesota, Ms. Jennisen has been a part of St. Dennis since 2007 when her oldest child attended Kindergarten. She began teaching 4K in 2016 and also serves as a Scrip coordinator and a Eucharistic minister at mass.

Ms. Jerina has a degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood Education from St. Norbert College. She taught in Chicago for a year before she discovered St. Dennis, and when she found it, she fell in love.

In addition to 7th grade, Ms. Maxson teaches science for grades 1-8 in our well-equipped lab. Class highlights are a dissection project in grade 7 and a rocket launch in grade 8. Kim also maintains the school garden and teaches the sewing elective.

A University of Wisconsin-Madison graduate, you’ll find Ms. McNally at plenty of sporting events with her husband. She’s been teaching at St. Dennis for her entire career, with the exception of one-year. She enjoys traveling, reading and golf.

Ms. Melo graduated from Edgewood College and began teaching 3rd grade at St. Dennis in 2014. In her spare time, she enjoys going for walks, playing volleyball, biking, gardening and spending time with family.

Tricia works with small groups and individual students in Kindergarten, first, second and third grade. Both her students are graduates of St. Dennis School where she strives to “nurture and guide children to be spiritually and academically strong.”

In addition to being a multi-age teacher in core curriculum, Ms. Ptiz also teaches middle school health and newspaper, coaches forensics and chaperones faith formation trips. “I love being part of St. Dennis School and watching the kids grow as they learn.”

Sister Joyce, a Sinsinawa Dominican Sister, works in the office with Mr. Beisser and Ms. Stanek. Prior to joining us in 2016, she served more than 30 years in California, always maintaining her fanship of the Green Bay Packers.

Mr. Pothof is a 2010 graduate of Marian University and has been the 8th grade home room and middle school language arts teacher since 2012. He likes to make learning fun and entertaining. Pothof also serves as a Student Council Advisor and the Athletic Director.

This is Ms. Reischel’s third year at St. Dennis, and her 18th year of teaching. Two of her children attend St. Dennis, with a third one not far behind. In all, she and her husband parent four boys, but she still finds time to enjoy traveling, walking and live music.

Since 1991, Ms. Romaniak has served St. Dennis School. Starting with 2nd grade, then 6th, she finally landed in 5K. All three of her daughters attended the school where they received “the best education in town.” In her free time, she enjoys walking and spending time with family.

Ms. Saalsaa graduated from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a degree in early childhood education with a dual licensure in special ed. In her free time she loves spending time with friends and family, traveling and being up north on the lake.

Miss Ann Marie, a teacher at St. Dennis School since 2016, loves watching the children in their music skills and hearing them sing with joy. “There’s a little song of praise in my heart for our St. Dennis Family,” she said.

Ms. Troia has been at St. Dennis School for 40 years. After a career teaching 3rd and 4th grade, she now helps out three days a week teaching cursive, math and and art. She loves that she gets to hang out the with kids while having extra time to hang out with her husband.

In addition to running our library, where she barcoded more than 8,000 books, Ms. Wilson, a Marquette University Law School graduate, teaches the Speech and Battle of the Books electives. She also teaches library skills and has story time for grades 5K-2nd.
