Mr. Beisser’s philosophy is simple: Choose your attitude and have fun! He received his undergrad from UW-Whitewater and a Masters in Educational Leadership from Cardinal Stritch University. He and his wife have two children who attend St. Dennis, and he loves coaching and playing soccer.
Sue was baptized at St. Dennis and attended school here. After being an active volunteer while her daughters were here, she filled roles in the kitchen and maintenance. Today, she helps in the finance office and manages our facilities. She loves being here and considers it her second home.
Ms. Brochtrup’s goal as an art teacher is to help students become confident and competent artistically, and to develop a greater understanding and appreciation of art. She has been teaching at St. Dennis since 2012. Prior to that, she taught in Madison public schools for 25 years.
Phil starting working building maintenance at St Dennis in 2015, and helps keeps things running smooth and safe. He enjoys camping and competition bowling.
Mr Busch was born into a musical family in Cuba City, WI. After graduating from UW-Madison with a degree in Economics, he began his professional music career. He has been playing music professionally in bands for the past 20 years and brings a unique perspective and energy to teaching music.
Grade 7 and Science
Mrs. Caya had taught middle school science for 17 years in Stoughton and has earned a Master’s Degree in Administrative Leadership and Curriculum Development. She transitioned to working at a technology company that worked with 3D mobile mapping and running the training department. Mrs. Caya teaches science for grades 3-8 at St. Dennis and in her spare time, enjoys reading, gardening and going to Door County with her family.
Linda has been teaching at St. Dennis for more than 20 years and loves the community of teachers, parents and students. In her free time, she enjoys being with her husband and two daughters. One of her daughters will follow in her footsteps as she studies UW-LaCrosse to become an elementary teacher.
Ms. Dorn has been part of this school since she was first born. She is the second Dorn to join our staff and is excited to be working with her mom down the hall! She graduated from UW-La Crosse with a degree in elementary education. Kindergarten is where her heart is and she is overjoyed to be here at St. Dennis.

Grade 7 and Middle School Reading
Ms. Hanson graduated from Edgewood College in 2001 and has been teaching at St. Dennis ever since. Her goal? “I believe it is very important to make every child feel important.” When she’s not teaching, you’ll find her outdoors with her family, running, reading or laughing.

Grade 6 and Middle School Religion
In addition to being a multi-age teacher in core curriculum, Ms. Ptiz also teaches middle school health and newspaper, coaches forensics and chaperones faith formation trips. “I love being part of St. Dennis School and watching the kids grow as they learn.”
Grade 8, Language Arts & Athletic Director
Mr. Pothof is a 2010 graduate of Marian University and has been the 8th grade home room and middle school language arts teacher since 2012. He likes to make learning fun and entertaining. Pothof also serves as a Student Council Advisor and the Athletic Director.
Mrs. Prechel spent the last 15 years teaching at St. Ann School in Stoughton. She received her Bachelor’s from UW-Madison in Special Education and obtained her Elementary Education certification from Edgewood College. In her free time she enjoys cheering on the Badger Men’s Basketball team, going for long walks with her husband, and hanging out with her three adult children.
Grade 6 and Middle School Math
Since 1991, Ms. Romaniak has served St. Dennis School. Starting with 2nd grade, then 6th, she finally landed in 5K. All three of her daughters attended the school where they received “the best education in town.” In her free time, she enjoys walking and spending time with family.
Ms. Troia has been at St. Dennis School for 40 years. After a career teaching 3rd and 4th grade, she now helps out three days a week teaching cursive, math and and art. She loves that she gets to hang out the with kids while having extra time to hang out with her husband.
